We recognise that institutional racism, structural inequalities, and racial disproportionality in policing have caused, and continue to cause, harm, mistrust, and poorer outcomes for Black communities and other racially minoritised communities, and that there can be a significant disparity between organisational commitments and stated objectives and the lived experiences of those communities.
Through scrutiny, challenge, and community engagement, we seek to ensure that Black voices, lived experience, and community impact remain central to assessing whether progress is real, meaningful, and felt by the communities most affected.
